Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly a doubt for Manchester United’s clash with Crystal Palace on Sunday with a knee problem.

All eyes will be on Ralf Rangnick with the new interim boss taking charge of his first match but he could be without his talisman.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner scored a brace in the 3-2 win over Arsenal on Thursday night as he reached the 800 career goals milestone.

But according to The Sun, Ronaldo injured his knee during the match and some United sources feel it came as a result of his iconic ‘SIUU’ celebration, which sees him jump high in the air while spinning before landing with his hands down by his side.

Ronaldo delivered his trademark celebration to full effect upon scoring from the penalty spot in the 70th minute.

The Portuguese carried on playing through the pain until he was replaced by Anthony Martial with just two minutes remaining as he walked awkwardly off the pitch.

Rangnick gave his first press conference as United boss on Friday and was asked how he plans to use a 36-year-old Ronaldo in his high-pressing team.

‘Having seen Cristiano against Arsenal in the second half at the age of 36, he is an amazing top professional,’ he said.

‘At his age, I’ve never seen a player who is still that physically fit. He’s still a player who can easily make the difference.

‘So yes, it’s about how we can develop the whole team, not only Cristiano. We play in the most competitive league in the world so we need all the players on board.

‘What I saw from Cristiano, he is more than willing to do that, to put his input into the team. His team-mates will have to do the same.’

United sit seventh in the Premier League table, 12 points behind leaders Chelsea.
